S26+ cost

Why is the "0%" sky deal £1308 when the cost is 1099 in most places inc  direct from samsung?

Simply because this is the price Sky have decided to retail it at so if it is cheaper elsewhere then it makes sense to get it from, an alternative supplier.

Re: S26+ cost

I get that but rep is £1099 , £200 seems excessive

...because many just look at the monthly repayment as opposed to the TAP.

Presumably it helps cover the cost of the finance arrangement.

Finance isn't zero cost.  Of course some retailers may subsidise it.

@Applechaos Presumably yes, there is also the other possibility that Sky are using the standard retail price of the 512GB model for both variants as that is £1269 without the current samsung promotion.

@Applechaos I find that incredibly hard to believe, they list that model at £1099 with a £170 discount on their preorder page, there is no way they have offered you an extra £200+ off that brand new device, you must have ordered the standard S26.

Re: S26+ cost

Sorry to jump on the back of this.

I have taken the VIP deal for the S26 ultra which comes with a "free" watch. £40 a month for the first 2 years and the £45 for the last.

the credit price is £1620 (£1500 with the offer) when the retail price is £1279.

I have contacted sky direct and they said that's just the price it's listed at.

considering it's 0% finance, I can't help but think they are either overcharging for the device or charging customers for the "free gift"

As already stated, Sky do often sell devices for more than the RRP.  Whilst there's 0% interest on the amount charged the TAP is higher.

As I mentioned, many focus on the monthly payment as a reference.

Can't really see the problem, sky are selling devices at a certain price with a specified monthly payment, other retailers are selling the same devices at a cheaper base price, the customer chooses the deal that suits them. What is the issue ? Supermarkets sell the same products at different prices, other retailers sell the same product at different prices, go to the retailer that's best for you. I like the lower monthly costs that Sky offer.
