Re: Roaming Bill
Are you out of the country?
'Answering' calls when you are out of the country will incur roaming charges if you are roaming.

Re: Roaming Bill
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes I'm abroad, but I'm receiving these incoming calls which are forwarded to my UK landline Skype number so, it shouldn't be counted as a roaming as I'm not answering these calls directly from my UK mobile number.

Re: Roaming Bill
If you are 'answering'* these calls when roaming then you will be charged. (Using data I presume)
You cannot avoid the roaming charges like this. I also presume you are in a 'rest of world' location where the the £2 daily flat rate doesn't apply.
* depending on how this is setup you may even be charged for not answering (as data is being consumed)

Re: Roaming Bill
From what I understand @Najla skype calls use data so if you are using data abroad then that will trigger roaming charges.

Re: Roaming Bill
I'm using local data and I turned off sky mobile data. And when I checked my bill the roaming charges were for recieving roaming calls.
Yes I'm currently in GCC region which £2 daily flat rate doesn't apply.
So, there is no point of forwarding the incoming calls to my UK Skype landline
number.
Thanks again.

Re: Roaming Bill
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
No I'm only using the local data and I've turned off the sky mobile data to avoid roaming charges.

Najla

Turning off data alone is not enough to avoid all roaming charges.
If you are answering calls then there is a charge to receive them.

Re: Roaming Bill
What do you mean by "local data", do you not have the Sky sim in your device and instead have a local sim in it ?

Re: Roaming Bill
What I can't understand is that I'm receiving the incoming calls that are forwarded to my Skype UK landline number so, roaming fees shouldn't be applied.

I know, but my main point is I'm forwarding the calls into my UK Skype landline number, so roaming fees shouldn't be applied.

Re: Roaming Bill
It looks like your plan to avoid roaming charges hasn't worked @Najla whatever you are doing is activating something at Skys end which in turn is adding charges to your account. You could try calling sky on 150 when you return to see if they can shed any light on the charges. I very much doubt they will remove them though.
