I can't use my iPhone as my internet connection keeps breaking almost every second. Apple tell me it is because I have put 5G for my connection . I can't get into my phone to change this because I my internet connection is so unstable. I rang Sky customer service which charged me some outrageous amount per minute and used up 80% of my capped amount in minutes just waiting to speak to an adviser .. Can't believe I was so stupid to change to this money grapping company. At this moment none of their phones are working. I can't delete this stupid eSIM nor can I come off 5G . I'm with them just one week and I am so sorry I changed to them. I wish I could cancel.
my advise to anyone thinking of trying Sky, DONT.

Usually, if there's a problem with the phone lines the forum is inundated with reports. No one else has reported this on the forum.

Did you try calling Sky free by dialling 150 from your Sky device?
We've had no reports of the phone lines being down.

Re: Rip off
I did indeed. Not working well at the moment. Cut me off after waiting two minutes.
all I want is to get to 2G.

Something doesn't make sense here.
You are not charged for calling 150 or using inclusive minutes. There is no 'cap'.

This doesn't make any sense either. What size is your dataplan?

Re: Rip off
Calls are unlimited (subject to a fair usage policy) so not sure why you think otherwise.
Calls to Sky Customer Services are free by dialling 150 from a device with a Sky sim or by using the approved Sky 03 numbers. Seems likely you searched for a number somewhere and picked a premium rate number.
No one else has stated they can't get through due to an issue with Skys phone lines.,

Both 2G and 3G are in the process of disappearing.
3G is mostly gone already, and 2G is largely only retained for emergency voice call use: neither was particularly good at shifting data in any case.

Re: Rip off
@Ceramicsix There is so much of your first post that makes absolutely no sense at all.
Using 5G shouldn't cause the internet to drop unless the signal for 5G is weak, you also do not need internet access to change it back to using 4G.
All Sky sims come with unlimited minutes, so how you have managed to using 80% of that on a call is not possible, there is also no charge for calling Sky customer service(unless you called a number you found from a Google search, in which case thats your fault not Sky's).

Re: Rip off
The cap is self imposed. I agree I must have tried a premium number .
whatever way you look at it I could not contact customer service..

Re: Rip off
Try 150 which is free! But note our comments on other aspects of your first post and the issues you mention.

Re: Rip off
You don't need a internet connection to go into the settings of your phone to change it to 4G.

Re: Rip off
Have you tried force restarting the iPhone?
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iph8903c3ee6/ios
Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button.
When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
As others have said you don't require a data connection to access Settings. Did you purchase the phone from Sky or elsewhere?
Which iPhone is it - 14, 15, 16 etc?
Can You provide a photo of the greyed out setting - omitting any personal information?
I don’t work for Sky.
If I have helped then please leave a like.
