Return old mobile

Is it possible to return old mobile to end agreement but not receive a new phone. I just want to keep sim for my new phone which was a gift

With Sky 'swap' - no.  Sky will only take the phone back as part of purchasing a new contract.

You can sell the phone privately (or use a trade in to cash service) and pay the contract off.
