Replacement iPhone not communicating with my SIM card

I got a replacement iPhone through my insurance. The new handset refuses to read the SIM card. (It works fine in my current phone and in others.

how can I fix this ??

Either the phone is faulty or it's locked to a different network?

It's a replacement handset from my insurance company. How do I tell if it's locked into another network and do you know how to fix that ?

I would ask your insurance company to see what they say about it and if it is ask them about getting it unlocked.
