Randomly Can't Call or Text and No Mobile Data

Out of the blue i am unable to make or receive any calls. When i try and call everyone appears to be on another call. And the same if someone calls me, they just get a message that i am on another call.  I cannot send any text messages, they immidiately fail. i am however able to receve text messages! which is odd. I can receive but cant respond. When i leave a wifi area, i have no mobile data, and my account shows that i do have. I have tried putting my sim card in another device and i have the same issue, so it is not my device!

 

I have tried all the standard trouble shooting steps, it is not a setting on  my phone and this is very random. The sky team said they would escalate this, but still not help.

I recently went out of the country and i was able to access the internet while roaming, but when i canm back to teh UK, i was still unaable to access mobile data and internet without wifi! How odd?

 

The virtual assistance is no help either, just sends me around in circles. i am so fed up.

Since you returned have you checked that this is set to home or at the very least to automatic:

 

Apple:

Settings > Mobile Data > SIM Applications > Make sure this is set to home

 

Android:

Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Make sure this is set to home

Mine has been doing the same for almost 3 weeks on and off. I'm now getting fed up of it. I can't even call them because it says they are on another call 🤦

My issue was eventually sorted with a replacement sim card. (Sky sent this to me by post) It took a while for me to be able to activate the replacement card, which  i did on the app. And now i am using the replacement sim card. I still dont have an actual reason what went wrong, but the replacement sim has solved my issue.

Thanks for trying to help. My issue was not related to roaming.- or ay setting on my phone (i had the issue before i left the UK)  It was just strange that my phone could work when roaming. Anyway, my issue is finally sorted with a replacement sim card- I prefer understanding the issue though and in this case i am just happy to be online again.

Hi @AileenSav  if you can tell us what the issue is then a fellow customer may be able to help. If not then call sky on 150 for help, you aren't talking to sky CS here.
