Promotional mobile deal

I swapped my two phones on my account for the promotion of an additional £300 on top of the old phones value and I was told several times that I would qualify for this and it would be added to my account automatically wiping out what I owed leaving a credit. I'm still waiting and my next bill is predicted at £400+ has anyone else had this problem?
