Re: Piggybank

Sky told me I had 600gb in my piggybank. I wanted to leave but they convinced me a good plan would be to drop to a 1 GB package and use up the bank. What they didn't tell me was, I lose large amounts of data each month, as it has been banked for over 12 months. So the bank won't last as long as I was led to believe. I was also told, I could use it up buying stuff from the shop. Great idea if you want to spend £400, to use 50 GB data, to get a £20 discount! So if I use it all in the shop, I would have to buy £4,800 worth of stuff, to save £480. The piggybank is ok as a tool when in contract but useless if you want to leave, or downgrade to use it up.

@Papermaker

Data in your Piggybank used to last for 3 years. It's now 12 months. So now at each billing date any data over 12 months old is removed. Your bill should show this transaction.

Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change letters/emails and it then came into effect in the summer of 2025 which may be why quite a few customers forgot it was going to happen.

Re: Piggybank

Very quick to reply but not understood the point I was making. Sky conveniently forgot too, when they were trying to con me into a new contract

The alternative is to leave and lose the lot...

At least staying allows you to utilise the residual in the bank for a year...  But choice is yours.

I understand your post. I was pointing out that the current Piggybank policy has been in place for about 12 months so you should already be aware. Move more data than you need into your sim then any unused data will return to the Piggybank for another 12 months.
