Phone contract

I am on someone else's contract however I want to switch to a different provider and keep my phone number. Does this affect the person who has the contract in any way if I come off it?

If you have had the SIM for 12 months then you are free to leave.  (The number can be transferred with a PAC)

Any device plan cannot be 'moved'.

Thanks for the reply. I have had the Sim a few years I just don't want the person who's contract I am on to face any penalties if I move my number to another from their payment plan.

If it's not the last SIM on the account then there's no issue in porting it out.
