Parental control lock

Trying to remove my parental control, however it says it can only be done using credit card.

I have an American Express card which didn't work, any other bank cards I had don't work.

is there not another way to verify my age?

Only a credit card will suffice (so NOT a debit card). You can borrow a credit card from a friend or family member if you haven’t got one yourself, it doesn’t have to be yours. The only other way is if you have signed a credit agreement with Sky, then they will already know you are 18 or over so if you call them on 150 they can deactivate this for you.
