PAC code issues!

I've been trying to get my PAC code from Sky Mobile for the past five days now. I'd like to move my number to a new provider as Sky Mobile's coverage in my area is terrible.


Instead of the code, I get the message:

 

" Sorry, we're having some issues that mean we can't issue your PAC for 44***********2 right now. Please try again soon."

 

I'm getting a little bit fed up with this now. Are they trying to force me to stay on Sky?? 

Can anyone shed any light on this for me or suggest a possible solution??

@eynonw  If you are in contract they can withhold the transfer

Give them a call on 150 and if you do then say no to going online and no to being sent a text message.

Hi. 

I'm not in contract. That ended over 8 months ago.

I've tried that. They said that the PAC Code can only be sent via the SMS system?

@eynonw  What happens if you text pac to 65075 from the number you want to transfer or is that when you're getting the error message

I don't think that is correct so perhaps try the 0300 number shown here under "How to get a Pac or Stac":

Have you tried calling the 0300 number as it says that will then text you a security code but after that they should be able to issue you with the pac once you have read back the security code to them.

Finally sorted it this afternoon. I called 150 and sparred with the call handling system until I finally reached a human in the same country as me. 

He was very helpful and agreed that the info given to me on a previous call was erroneous! 

All sorted now!!
