Old number appears when I send a text

I took my number from my previous mobile provider when I joined Sky mobile. When I call someone the old (correct) number appears on their screen but when I send a text it is the number given by Sky, which I had disregarded which comes up. Please help, Sky.

Hi @Dongods  if this is an iPhone go to settings, phone, my number and check the correct number is stored there, if not then change it, save and restart your phone. It can sometimes take a few attempts to save.

Something else to try:

If this is an iphone refresh the network settings so go Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. If you're using iOS or iPadOS 14 or earlier, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then go to Settings - Phone - My Number and change it if it is wrong, then reboot the phone. You will need to set up your Wifi connection again.

If it is an Android phone go to About Phone > My Phone number, change it and reboot the phone. Also in text settings change the chat function to automatic. Make sure your current number is ticked and the temporary one isn't.
