On several occasions, I've been told I've had people try to call me & it'll say "this number is not in use". Why is this happening? It's so sporadic & I don't know when it happens until later on when someone calls my landline. So other than switching it off/on, or on Aeroplane mode, this doesn't seem to fix the problem & who knows how many calls I've missed.

If you can make calls ok without any issues you might want to report this to Sky by calling them on 150 and they might want to send you a replacement sim to try if you are using one and not an eSIM.
