No mobile signal whilst in Mexico

Does anybody know why or how I can get phone signal in Rivera Maya in Mexico? I have tried absolutely everything that sky have suggested and still no luck.

Mexico is a Rest of The World destination sousing your mobile will be very expensive.

 Is your spend cap set sufficiently high enough?

Costs are…

£2,160 per GB (that is Two thousand one hundred and sixty pounds)

£2.16 per minute Calls to local or UK mobile and landline numbers

£1.80 per minute to receive calls

£0.50 per text message to Uk numbers and mobiles

£0.58 per mms picture message

Are these costs new as I used my phone normally in cancun last year & had the roaming passport?

They aren't new. Putting Mexico in the search box at the top of the page will see similar advice.

I've just checked the most recent Sky mobile tariff (dated 15 April 2025) and Mexico is still a Rest of the World destination…

Probably turned off roaming and mobile data @Catherine+Clarke  then used free WiFi.
