No mobile service

I'm currently travelling with my wife (both on Sky mobile) We're in Australia and New Zealand and have no mobile service.

i removed the spend cap on both mobiles and had 5G for literally five minutes then it shut down on both phones.

Twice this has left us in a really precarious position with no communications at all.

The only way we've been able to communicate with family is when we have WiFi, but a 4/5G service is what we paid for and should be available.

it's so frustrating! Any help very gratefully received😃

All we can do is to point you to this:

You could try turning off automatic network selection in the settings then get your phone to search for other available networks to see if it will then connect and work for you.

@RalphHowarth

There have been quite a few posts regarding roaming issues in Australia over the last few months with no real end solution.

Could you have been there long enough, and used your phone enough, to have possibly exceeded the fair usage policy?

Roaming using Roaming Passport Plus is now limited to 25GB per billing period.

From Skys own website...

When you roam using our Roaming Passport Plus, we consider that up to 25GB per billing period is a reasonable amount of data to use. If you exceed this amount, we'll assume that you're no longer using data in the way expected of a reasonable customer for periodic travel.

We may suspend your service, restrict your usage, or charge you for the data that you use in excess of these amounts (currently £2.50 per GB), and we'll let you know by SMS or email before we do so.

Hi @RalphHowarth  in the trouble shooting guide pay particular attention to the sim application section and try different settings there.

With regards to paying for a service, sky don't guarantee that roaming will always work, the same as a mobile signal isn't always guaranteed in the UK.
