No emergency alert on my phone!
Here I am at home with Sky claiming there is a good signal.
Now there is proof I have no signal (which I've been telling them forever) because I didn't get the emergency alert.
Another great moment for the Sky Mobile Network.
Why doesn't someone (Ofcom?) check these people's coverage claims and show them for they are fantasies?

Re: No emergency alert on my phone!
Hi @CanardNoir a few questions, have you made sure your phone is compatible with the alert system (80% of UK mobiles were compatible with last test) ? Have you disabled the feature to receive alerts on your phone ? Were you connected to 4G/5G at the time of the test.
Bear in mind also that 7% of compatible handsets didn't receive the alert last time, across a range of networks.

Re: No emergency alert on my phone!
The phone is new (a Galaxy Flip 7) and is configured to receive emergency alerts.
There is no signal round here despite Sky's constant claims that there is good coverage for 4G and 5G.
There is no coverage for either but Sky believe their fantasy rather than those of us here who all live the reality.

Re: No emergency alert on my phone!
Further info:-
Messaged Sky who say that it's nothing to do with them it's the government.
My phone is OK and so is their network (one bar occasionally) in an area that claims good coverage.
I'm not to worry because if there was an emergency then the government has other ways of alerting me. They didnt say what those were.
So there we are, everything is OK after all.
I guess as long as I keep paying my bill it is (for them).

Re: No emergency alert on my phone!
There's nothing wrong with their software that calculates your bill.
The problem is with their software they use to advertise their coverage maps. If only it had the same accuracy as their accounting software.
They won't be working on improving either as both work in their favour (both by design).
Their latest excuse for me not having any signal is breath-taking. It's down to the government not them and they expect the government will get it better when they test the alert system again. I pay taxes but had no idea they were being used to provide my mobile signal (or lack of it). I wonder now what it is I'm paying Sky for.
The claim is that 7% of the population didn't receive the alert the last time they tested. Where did that figure come from? There is no way to tell the government whether you got the alert ot not. If they relied on the network operators telling them then any figures from Sky (O2 in England) should be treated with the suspicion it is part of the same fantasy they use to run their mobile network with 99% coverage.

The Cabinet Office, apparently. Primary issue was delivery over the Three network.

Sky Group does not own or operate any cellular infrastructure: like the vast majority of cellphone companies it's a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (in this case on the O2 network)

Presumably from the networks themselves who monitor delivery.

Re: No emergency alert on my phone!
Then I'm right that they should be very suspicious of figures provided by Sky (O2 in England).
