Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
Is there a time frame for when this will happen ? Will this resolve the issue ? Thanks

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
Nothing is going to work till sky gets their act together, I'm thinking of going back to three, I have to put my phone into airplane a few times a day or after calls to get my Internet working again it's ridiculous

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
That's shocking!!
I sometimes go into meetings > connection > mobile networks > network operators > I turned off the connection automatically (think I watched a YouTube video or read something about this) > click scan networks > choose sky mobile
This sometimes works after a call to restore Internet connection or works when roaming but it's a joke... I could do this about 50+ times a week...

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
I just switched to Sky mobile last week, no mobile data, I have an android phone, went through all the recommended processes by Sky, still no mobile data, a big waste of time. I am sorry I switched.

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
Well, I have resolved my issue. Not by following the advice of Sky, rebooting or downloading the apn settings again. But by switching to Apple, works 100%. No reoccurrence of no data after a call or roaming hit and miss when I go into the North. It clearly is an issue with Android devices.
Anyone else using IOS care to comment?

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
OnePlus phone here also and the same issue. I went through the same witchcraft type nonsense with "customer service" of course to no avail. After emailing roi-complaints at sky dot ie I finally managed to actually talk to somebody that at least seemed to understand the issue.
The underlying issue as a previous poster said is that Sky haven't been added to the carrier file for most Android phones. In iOS it's part of the Apple update process, so has been rolled out in iOS 18.something. I'm not 100% sure who's responsible for the carrier file on Android, but I'm tending towards it being the manufacturers rather than Google. At any rate it's down to the manufacturers to roll out the updates even where Google has provided the patch.
VoLTE/WiFi is working I believe on newer Samsung and Xiaomi handsets, but not older ones - Pixel also maybe. I've installed an app to pull updates directly from the OnePlus servers sidestepping their release cycle, but as of the latest update (about 3 weeks ago) Sky wasn't added. My phone is a 12r, so only released about a year ago.
The biggest issue is that, since all this is rolled out on top of Vodafone, to make/receive a call with no VoLTE and WiFi the phone has to drop back to 2G since Vodafone have turned off 3G which would have previously been the fallback and would have allowed data - albeit somewhat slow. I've also had the airplane mode dance to reenable data so not sure why it drops all connectivity.
All the above probably doesn't help much, but hopefully gives a bit of clarity as to what the issue is when the script readers on the utterly useless front-line support tell you to stand on one leg and hop three times or something.

Same as above, having this issue with both Oneplus and Xiaomi Phones, both running Android. What are the options for escalation on this as I will be cancelling subscriptions to both if this can't be rectified quickly as both are business related.

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
I have been through the ringer with Whatsapp support since Friday on this. Good Lord those folks are under-trained and devoid of any troubleshooting skill.
I'm happy to see I'm not the only one facing the issue, but at the same time sad that it has been ongoing for months with no recognition of there being a problem, and no path to resolution.
This is day 14.since.inported my number from Three Mobile, although I did sign up at a kiosk, so I suppose the 31 day cooling off period applies to me.
This deal was a little too good to be true. Sadly, I've filled out the cancellation form and am heading back to three mobile where there are no such issues. What a shame. It had the potential to be a real game changer in Ireland.

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
Thanks for everyone's input on this thread. I have a OnePlus 12 and have been going through the same "reboot and reset your apn settings" dance that most of you would likely have been going through.
I don't have any data coverage while talking on the phone, and when I lose signal entirely in my house (where I can get poor reception) I don't get any signal again until I apply airplane mode, then turn it off again.
I've just started a 12 month contract (2 months in) so I'm not sure how I'm going to resolve this. I won't be able to cancel my contract with sky due to the cooling off period being finished. Has anyone had this issue actually acknowledged by sky? Any advice?

My advice is to send the roi-complaints at sky dot ie I reference in my previous post a mail, explain what you've tried, including any lose the will to live interactions with their "customer service". State clearly that you can't be at fault for their network only being functional with a very limited number of handsets (this isn't stated clearly anywhere on their site). You as a consumer have the right to expect that a 5G phone will be compatible with a 5G network and shouldn't be expected to have a deep knowledge of how this stuff works.
Be polite but firm. When I did this about a month ago somebody who did actually seem to have a clue called back and they waived the contract lock-in for me if/when I wanted to port away. I haven't done so yet as I was hoping OnePlus would roll it out in the March update (they didn't) but I can't stay with these limitations. I've heard of others who have had the lock-in waived also.
Good luck!

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
Thank you for your explanation.
I am also a OnePlus user experiencing this "issue"..
Were you able to progress this (or are we still waiting on OnePlus to pull their finger out)? What is your current workaround?
Thanks again,
Dave

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
This is not a OnePlus issue. This is a Sky issue. I have a OnePlus 10 pro myself.
I moved back to Three within my cooling off period and normal service has resumed.
Honestly, I'd love to say that I'll give Sky Mobile another go when this issue is confirmed as resolved, but after experiencing their poor customer service and technical support there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that I'll be going down this road again.

Re: No data during call or after a call - Ireland
Unfortunately from my understanding, which I'll admit isn't complete, compatibility is only provisioned but software updates. If OnePlus don't roll out the updated carrier file with the network parameters it won't work. Same spoilers to Xiaomi , Samsung, apple and all the rest. I read on another forum that Samsung rolled out the update for I think the s22 after Christmas which made it functional. Not to let sky of the hook - they should be driving this and make sure it happens. It's a strange way of doing things, I'd expect the handset and network to negotiate capabilities when they connect, or at the very least for this to be part of the core Android monthly security patches
