New phone, old SIM?

I have recently swapped my old Galaxy for a newer model. Rather than use the new SIM sent to me, I took the SIM out of the old phone and inserted it into my new phone. I am now thinking that I should have used the new SIM and PAC'd my existing number across, as I am having problems with connectivity (including Android Auti in particular)away from my homeSky router, ie roaming. Also my Sky account is still showing my old SIM plan data at 1gb per month rather than the 3gb purchased with the new phone. Any comments or thoughts welcomed!

Hi @exminsternorm  you have done the easiest and what I consider the correct thing. If you used the new sim with the new plan then that would have a new number.  You can't port from sky sim to sky sim so you can't easily get your old number on the new sim. Your account will show the old plan as you are using the old sim. If you activate the new sim then you will be paying for two plans.

Re: New phone, old SIM?

Update time. I spent some time chatting to an adviser today, and it turns out that rather than upgrading my old phone, I purchased another one, so I effectively had two phones and two SIMS, my existing one plus a new one. After going around in circles with the adviser, I decided to go to the Sky website and upgrade my old phone for exactly the same model that purchased. When it arrives I'll transfer all data from the other one, then return it as it's within 28 days of purchase. What could possibly go wrong...😆
