New phone new sim

I got a new phone with sky as I have been with them since February and got a fab deal so as my old phone was working on sky mobile esim and because my new phone they sent me out a sim but was trying to activate it but no luck and was talking to someone from sky regarding this and they said because I have an esim try that still no luck now my old  phone won't receive texts or calls help

What do you mean by this, are you trying the move the esim from the old phone to the new one ?

I HAVE TRIED TO ACTIVATE MY NEW PHONE WITH NO LUCK WITH THE SIM CARD SO THEN I WAS TOLD TO DO IT VIA THE ESIM AS THAT IS WHAT I HAD BEFORE ANYWAY WHEN I GO TO ACTIVATE IT I GET A CODE VIA TEXT BUT LOW AND BEHOLD I CANT BECAUSE MY NEW SIM IS ACTIVATED ... SO IF THE NEW SIM WAS ACTIVATED  WHY WOULD I BE ON HERE .. PLEASE HELP AS WE KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF SOMEONE TO SORT THIS OUT

If the sim card has been activated then you can convert that to an esim if that is what you want:
