New mobile purchased

Hi, I have purchased a new mobile via my sky. Which I have received yesterday, thank you. 🙏🏻 attempted to activate my eSIM last night but it wouldn't transfer my data from my old phone. I will try again tonight. 
However my concern is I received a message from you saying here is your new mobile number. I didn't want a new mobile number, I just wanted a new phone. Can my original number be transferred to my new phone?

Any new dataplan you activate will have a new number.

 

You cannot use a PAC code within a network.

 

Your options are to cancel the new dataplan and use your existing one.  Or a protracted workaround of porting the existing number out of the network and back in to the new SIM.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
