New Sim card already owned by someone else and is active

So i just got a new sim card delivered today. I activated it, installed whatsapp to find groups and numbers of people dated as recent as last month. I was then just sent a video so i enquired who it was and they said ''this is my sons number how do you have it'' and i told them this was my new sim card. She said she got her son this contact number back in june 2024 so i've no idea how we are both sharing the same number but we are?

@NiCkDee24

Not sure how this has happened as all numbers on all networks are recycled so while it is possible that the number on this card was previously used by somewhere else I don't think it is possible to have two sim cards with the same number being used by two different people. All you can do here is to call Sky on 150 so they can cancel this one and issue you with another one.

I've spoken to the actual owner of the number who owned this before me as they still use it and they said the number has been disconnected on their end now and not usable.

@NiCkDee24  Number disconnected on their end would be due to cancellation or non payment and service termination.

Sound slike they need to update the number on their devices.
