New Phone Problems

Hiya I was wondering if anyone can help me, I just got a new iPhone today and a new SIM card, I have activated my sim card and tried to transfer from my old iPhone and it gets so far and then it keeps coming up saying 'cannot connect to server' and then makes me reset and wipe the phone? It's connected to the internet and the new sim is 4G so I'm not sure what is going on?

Did you have a sim card with your previous iphone, if so have you tried using that one because now you have activated this new one if you do have this other one then you will now be charged for two sim cards.
