I keep running out of storage can you buy more storage for an iPhone 12

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Miastone You cannot add any physical storage to iPhones, you can buy compatible USB memory sticks from Apple but they are very expensive(128GB is £44.95) so it may be worth looking around to see if there are any cheaper alternatives.

No: that's always been a choice by Apple to 'encourage' users to pay extra at time of purchase for more built-in storage*. I'd also note that the 12 is now getting on a bit at nearly 4 years old and Apple really wants people to upgrade every couple of years: limited initial on-board capacity is a motivating factor for new sales in the future (or subscription to upgraded iCloud tiers)
*actually the 'official' reasons are micro-SD slows performance and compromises the design of the enclosure. That it lets Apple add between £100 and £300 to the base price of, say, an iPhone 14 for a small manufacturing cost in extra chip capacity is a complete coincidence ; )
