We have two mobiles with sky and both of the handsets did NOT receive the alert. Borh are 4G & 5G and the alerts are not turned off. No message from sky to explain why.

Why didn't I receive the emergency alert yesterday?

I didn't receive one either. My Galaxy 23 had alerts turned on etc and other phones in the house went off. The government haven't confirmed they are aware millions didn't get the alert (although I don't know how they know?) and will be looking into it...

That is a question the Government are investigating. I received it, albeit at 14:59.

It was a test

My wife and I didn't get the alert on our handsets - both up to date Pixel 6a
My daughter did though, on her iPhone in a different part of the country.
(As for the 2.59pm thing - the pre-test information never ever said it would be at 3pm - it said it would be around 3pm, so a minute before meets that criteria).

I checked the settings on his phone and noticed he had the Severe alerts notification turned off which explained why he didn't get the alert.

It’s possible that there was an issue with your mobile network or your phone settings. You may want to check if emergency alerts are enabled on your phone and if your mobile network had any issues during the time of the alert.

Both out phones have alerts active, and afaik, the network was ok at that point. After then, we got hit with the outage reported elsewhere in the forums.

We live in a village in Oxfordshire and all 3 of us on Sky did not receive the emergency alert. We checked our settings and they were OK. However, our network crashed twice in less than 5 mins around that time. Could it be that it just couldn't manage the load?
I'm sure we aren't the only ones so how come the only network mentioned in news coverage is EE. Are Sky in contact?

The main company I've seen mentioned in the media is Three. I'm sure all the providers are feeding back information to the government.

Worth remembering that EE and Three are two of the four actual cellular networks in the UK (the others being Vodaphone and O2)
Every other cellular provider, including big names such as BT Mobile, Sky and Virgin, is an MVNO and does not own radio frequency spectrum licences.
