Mobiles purchase scam

I was scammed by a phone from Sky Mobile. They gained access to my account or shared information via the MySky app and placed an order for two phones. The representatives were polite and persuasive, leading me to believe I was receiving the best deal.

As a result, my mobile account ended up with two contracts and two new phones. However, they cleverly claimed that the wrong parcel was delivered and took both phones back, stating that the package was incorrect.

Now, I find myself without any phones but burdened with two full mobile contracts for 36 months at £60.00 per month. I have attempted to contact Sky Mobile multiple times to register my concern and cancel the contracts within the 14-day period, but I received no response.

I called three times, but each time I was put on hold and ultimately disconnected. My stress levels are rising, and the Sky customer service team has shown no consideration or provided confirmation regarding the cancellation of my contracts or blocking the iPhones.

I need assistance to put a stop to my mobile account.

This is a common scam I'm afraid. Needless to say it wasn't Sky callling you. You will need to persevere on the phone to Sky. Also see this link

To cancel the contracts you'd need to return the phones... That will be an issue.

I'm not sure whether Sky can write these contracts off but ultimately this is the scam - if you have given them the information to access your account then it will be difficult.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

The quickest way to get straight through to an advisor is to choose the cancellation option when calling. They connect within 5 mins. Explain to them everything that's happened & they will either look into it all for you or at least take all details from you & put it all on your account before connecting you to the ppl that can help you. 🤞 Really hope it helps as it's shocking & should have been resolved immediately. Good luck

Unrealistic to expect swift resolution when from the vendors point of view it appears to be a legitimate sale...

@KP71

What has happened, have you been sent a Sky Mobile phone that you did not order, if so have you phoned Sky about it as per this:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover

If you receive an unexpected parcel from Sky get in touch with our customer services team immediately. We can give advice on what to do. Don’t send the parcel anywhere except our returns address.

We’ll give you pre-paid returns packaging to send the parcel back to us.

Re: Mobiles purchase scam

Contact Action Fraud online. There is a phone number to contact them. You'll be given a crime reference number and you submit that to Sky. Just in the process of doing the same myself. However, finding a number where you can actually speak to a human is near impossible!
