Can you just buy a phone from sky mobile without a plan ?

If you can't checkout without one then simply do not activate it.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

You can yes @Westie368 , if it wants you to select a plan as well then pick the cheapest and when the sim arrives do not activate it then it will be cancelled.
