Mobile Service support

Been having issues with a Samsung I bought for my mother last year. Not getting texts or calls intermittently and getting really late notifications through wifi and data. Initially told it was the mast issue, she ended up getting 4 months of her SIM contract refunded as that was "supposed" to be the problem with the phone. Nothing changed, then eventually got a brand new SIM sent for her, which changed nothing also.

Phoned today was on the phone almost 2 hours going from the first guy telling me the phone wasn't in warranty to him then transfering me through to a department that deals with new contracts for whatever reason. Then back to the technical department to be told the phone IS in warranty, but if I want to send it back for "repair," it will take in excess of 2 weeks. Simply cannot be without the phone for that length of time. No one willing to attempt to do anything to help just getting passed around to different departments, like, for instance, when the 3rd person on the phone was putting me through to a "manager" put me through to the TV department, seriously? then I get back to technical and go through the same process again to be transferred again, but since it hit 8pm they are no longer working.

A year with a phone that intermittently works and getting no resolution at all, they don't even want to send me a replacement phone they just want me to send it to them to get repaired, which again will take 2 weeks..

But hey, I can upgrade the phone, which would solve the issue, right? Wrong.. The phone I'm paying around £25 a month for is worth £67??? So the something like £450 left on the contract would need to be paid to upgrade it..

Absolute joke this, 2 hours of my life wasted doing nothing but repeating the same information to 5 different people to get cut off because it's 8pm and they aren't working anymore... No warning from anyone on the phone before I got transferred and had to wait on hold at around 7:40 to say this would happen other than the automated message on hold telling me, "Yeah, good luck, your getting cut off soon.."

If it is sent back for 'repair' then I'm afraid it will take time - they are under no obligation to provide a temporary phone to use in the interim.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

I'd observe that if you are trading in a phone that you state is faulty then realistically you aren't going to get a high trade-in value.
