Hi all,
I got an I phone 16 at the weekend and converted to an eSIM. I've scanned the bar code on the new phone and entered the emailed pin but it says unable to activate eSIM.
I have no phone service or calls and I'm desperate for my phone for work.
spoken to sky twice via my sons phone but they keep fobbing me off saying it's an known issue and it will be fixed by this evening (This was Monday and Tuesday)
Any ideas before I switch providers after 22 years of being with sky.
Thanks

Find out moreHave you activated the physical sim, if you have then you can either use the physical sim as you do not need to use an eSIM but if you do want to do this then it might be worth insisting that Sky sends you another sim to try to convert which will mean cancelling this one.

Thank you for your response. The physical sim from my I phone 13 doesn't fit the I iPhone 16.
I have just done what you've said and ordered a new one. Do you know how long it will take? I can't work without being able to receive/make calls or text messages- everything is linked to my phone as a 2-factor authentication 🙈

Hi John,
it does fit - my apologies.
however it doesn't work anymore as it converted to an eSIM

Can I reactivate my old physical sim?

Did you cancel it ?

No it was changed to an eSIM for the new phone on the sky app.
my old phone (13 with the physical sim) stopped working (texts and calls)
and the eSIM wouldn't work in the new one.
Hence no calls/texts and no way of talking to sky as I don't have a land line
