Manchester Call Centre

Has anyone else received harrassing, repeated calls from the team in the Manchester call centre when you tell that you don't want to upgrade. Happened to me just now. Five calls in the space of 20 mintues, each from a different man on the 0161 number. I finally threatened to call the police and file a harrassment complaint. Of course, I've tried to call SKY to let them know of these shenanigans but there's no way to reach customer service people on the telephone. Enough.

How do you know it was Sky? I wouldn't expect an outgoing call from Sky on an 0161 number.

Re: Manchester Call Centre

They identified themselves as Sky. I am currently dealing with Customer Service through a virtual agent. If it is them it should be fairly easy to figure who called me. I'm sure there is surveillance. Also, distinct accents.

@Clerkenwell59 Just because they said they where from Sky doesn't mean they are, from what you describe it shows all the hallmarks of a scam call followed up by more calls to try and pressure you into letting them gain access to your account.

Re: Manchester Call Centre

Sky has confirmed that the number is not one of theirs and is  scammer.

Thought as much.

With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam call.

As far as I'm aware Sky has never had any contact centre infrastructure in Manchester itself: there used to be one in Stockport but they've been downsizing and offshoring under Comcast ownership.

Typically a legitimate call wouldn't have a geographic exchange number anyway.
