MacBook air battery chargering problem

We bought a new Mac book air M2 29/11/24 when we got when we opened it Mac book air battery was 0% so we connect with charger so MacBook air was starting but after 30 mins when we checked buttery percentage it was still 1% so we disconnect charger so suddenly MacBook turned off automatically we connected charger again so MacBook started again but after few hours we checked Battery but it was still on 1% we don't know where is problem in the charger or in The battery can you please explain this or helping us
