@Looney2

Sky don't do loyalty gifts. I'm afraid to tell you it's very likely you've been scammed.

Can you tell us how this offer came about?

Hi @Looney2  if a courier turns up asking for the "gifts" as they have been sent in error do not give them the devices.

Re: Loyalty

My friend was without landlines for 3 weeks thanks to sky and I think this is why the gifts were promised

@Looney2

I still think it was a scam. Sky don't offer tablets like that. No landline is covered by monetary compensation.

How would your friend being without a landline (so an account holder in their own right) generate an email to you and why would it be for loyalty?

@Looney2

This has all the hallmarks of a scam.

Scammers try to obtain sufficient information to be able to order expensive mobile devices in your name which Sky innocently deliver to you which is why @63johnw commented earlier.

The scammers would then recontact you (again claiming to be Sky) saying they have made a mistake and for you to send it to a (non Sky) address. If you did that they then have the device and you have the bill.

They are very cunning. They may send packaging to post the item (to them) or might even send a 'courier' to collect it. see this link

I would suggest changing your Sky online password https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/

It's also worth keeping an eye on your bank account for any fraudulent transactions.

Under no circumstances whatsoever would Sky be gifting an iPad.

It's 100% a scam but without knowing exactly what's happened it's hard to advise.  But if any such items do arrive ensure they are only sent back to Sky (and not the scammers).

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@Looney2

Does your friend live with you as I can't see how helping someone else as lead to you being scammed so what has happened, did you receive a call saying they were from Sky ?
