Lost Sim cancellation

My son's iphone was stolen so I contacted Sky to cancel the Sky sim. I was told it would take 30 days!!!!! Most other mobile phone/sim providers would immediately cancel the sim so that no one could use it for calls or payments! Why do Sky not do this?

You've been incorrectly advised - they do block upon report.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

I've just had an email telling me my contract will end in 30 days!!!!!

Sounds like they've taken that as notice to cancel the contract and not block/reissue SIM....
