Losing any current discount if lowering data plan

Hi,

I am currently on the My Mix tariff and pay £14 a month for 10GB. I want to downgrade to the £5 a month 100 MB as I have over 115GB in my piggy bank 🐷

I know it's not a huge saving but I'm struggling with money at the moment.

I just want to know if I will lose my unlimited calls and texts as it says I have a mobile saver discount of £10 as that is the usual price? The offer ends in 2104?!

I've looked online and it says some companies will take off the discount but some won't and I can't find any specific information apart from if you receive extra data for free then that will not continue.

Thanks in advance

All Sky plans have 'unlimited' calls and SMS.  (To inclusive numbers)

...as it says I have a mobile saver discount of £10 as that is the usual price? The offer ends in 2104?!

It's a legacy configuration.  When Sky Mobile was first launched 'unlimited' calls was £10pm unless you were already had Sky TV where they applied a £10 discount.  This was abolished a long time ago (as every provider offers inclusive calls) but the billing system will still show the £10 discounted to £0.  (The offer end date is just a workaround so it doesn't expire, well until 2104!)

If you have a specific discount/offer with Sky, e.g. £6 off or double data, then you cannot revert back to that offer if you change plans.  (The offer is indeed 'lost')

But in your case you can switch to the lowest deal and use your piggybank to top up data.  (Note that banked data expires are 12 months)  But when your piggybank is exhausted you can only switch to plans offered on that SIM at the time - which won't usually have any enhancement such as double data.

Always worth checking available plans for existing SIMs but the best offers are always for new plans.

Re: Losing any current discount if lowering data plan

Thank you!
I did think it was a but strange there was a discount on the unlimited calls and texts as I've always had a contract phone and it never crossed my mind you wouldn't get unlimited calls and texts.

I know this isn't part of the original question but you seem like an oracle 😋 do you know when RCS will be available to use with Sky? And also why if Sky piggybacks off of O2 why I can't pay £5 extra to use my Apple Watch without my mobile with me like I did with O2. I'm very very forgetful because of my ADD but I can't change back to O2 because my credit history is **bleep**.

Anyways, I really appreciate  your help 😊

But it's also meant to be available on iphones. I don't know if it's only in America or network specific but I definitely read that it was meant to be available on iphones from iOS18  which was quite a while ago 😔
