Irish Eircode not accepted during SIM activation

I am in the Republic of Ireland.

The activation page for my new Sky mobile sim card is forcing a UK postcode format.

My Irish Eircode is rejected.

Hi,

I’m based in the Republic of Ireland and I’m trying to activate my new Sky Mobile SIM.

During activation, the system will not accept my Irish Eircode and is forcing a UK postcode format, so I can’t proceed past this step. I’ve confirmed the country is set to Republic of Ireland, but the error still occurs.

This appears to be a known issue affecting Sky Mobile Ireland customers.

Can this please be escalated so my SIM can be manually activated or the postcode validation overridden?

Hi @AdrianOK 

 

To try and get you some help I have escalated your post to the Sky Community Messaging Team.

Look out for a post on this thread from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a coloured speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.

No official response yet. A bit annoying, especially when this is a known issue, would have thought sky would have just fixed the overall issue. Obviously don't care too much about Irish mobile users, so will look into taking my business elsewhere instead!
