Incorrect Data Roaming Charge

I left the UK roughly 12 hours ago and had my phone switched off on the flight. I've arrived in Mexico, switched my phone on and immediately had a message saying I had used the £45 data roaming cap I had set. This can't be right as I can't have used any data at all! What should I do? Could this just be incorrect? My account doesn't confirm anything as it takes up to 30 hours to update according to the app.

Hi @Shirts-986  the charge will be correct. As soon as you turn your phone on it uses data in the background (download emails, location services etc) and at £2.16 per Meg (not Gig) then that's only 20 Meg to use the £45. So unfortunately you won't get it taken off your account.

To avoid further charges turn off roaming and mobile data, put your phone in flight mode and only turn on WiFi when in a free WiFi area.
