Contracts are only usually cancelled due to lack of payment.

If you’re in arrears for 56+ days Sky can fully terminate your subscription. Is that what has happened here?

Sorry think you misunderstood me. I called up to speak about my current contract. I pay my bill monthly by DD so not in arrears. He went ahead and cancelled whilst I was talking to him.

If you call Sky and tell them the date and approximate time you called they should be able to listen back on your call and verify what was said. It seems strange they've cancelled your subscription without your approval.

I know! It was all very odd. I have managed to speak to sky now and they have reversed the cancellation and I have explained I was a little disappointed with how the call went so wrong in the first place !
