Help needed with new sim

Hey all newby here. I upgraded to a new iPhone with a new data plan in September. The MySky app still hasn't updated to the new plan. The sim that came with the phone didn't activate. A replacement sim didn't activate. If I choose 'keep my number' I get sent a pac code and a thousand emails thinking I want to leave Sky. Rang twice, both times really helpful but nothing changed. Complained to Sky and nothing happened. I'm obviously doing something wrong can anyone help please?

I'm not sure you are doing anything wrong as your issues seem to stem from the fact your sim did not activate.

 

The new data plan was this actually on a new sim or on the sim you already had ?

Any new dataplan has a new phone number.  If you activate it then you'll have two plans.

 

The correct thing was to simply move the SIM from old to new phone.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

That depends on how you ordered this new plan:

 

Did you apply it to the sim you already had ?

Was it something like the "unlimited plan" which only applies when taking out a new sim ?

I upgraded on the app. New phone arrived with new sim.

That still doesn't answer if you ordered a new data plan or you changed the plan you already had, I suspect you did the former and therefore order a new sim which once activated, if you manage to do this you will be paying for this additional one.

Ok I said in my first post that I got a new phone with a new data plan. I was on a 40gb data plan and changed to a 10gb one. I was on an iPhone 15 now and iPhone 17. I put the new sim in the new phone and tried to activate my new 10gb data plan but it hasn't worked. Can anyone help me on here? Thanks if you can

If you ordered a new data plan with your phone then this is in addition to your existing SIM.  If you activate it then it will be in addition with a new phone number.

 

If you activate the SIM as a replacement then it will be your old plan and number.

 

If you want to keep your phone number then it's not easy to move to a new dataplan.

Ok so I spoke to someone else at Sky and was told I could not keep my number when moving from one data plan to another on Sky. As such I was misinformed by two other Sky employees. This individual advised that they can instead downgrade my current data plan (less data less cost) at the end of the month, and that the discount on the new data plan will be applied. Since then I've received an email from Sky quoting the full price, so I'm looking forward to the end of the month to see whether anything actually happens, and if so, what. Thanks to all who've provided opinions on my situation on here. Most helpful
