Going abroad for a prolonged period of time

I am staying in France for 2 and a half months and am aware that it costs £2 per day for data roaming. If I continue like this, it will cost me £60 per month just for data which is a bit much. Do Sky do any sort of packages for customers who will be out of the country for longer periods?

Many thanks

No @JW18 I'm afraid they don't. It might be better to buy a local SIM card once you're there.

Hi @JW18  short answer is no. You would be best getting a local sim while there.

Re: Going abroad for a prolonged period of time

Thanks Daniel & John,

Sorry as I'm a bit of a novice on this subject... but can I have this new sim on the same phone? Without taking out the Sky mobile one (if that makes sense)

or is that not possible?

@JW18

All mobiles provided by Sky come unlocked to any network so temporarily replace the Sky sim with the local one.

That's possible in some phones, but only if they were specifically manufactured as 'dual-SIM' hardware with an appropriate insert tray.

Some recent models may permit a physical SIM plus one or more eSIMs (which are defined in software and don't have the tiny plastic 'chip')
