Free gift being cancelled

My son bought a Samsung tablet with a sky mobile contract a few months ago to help with his teacher training course. He  liked the tablet  but was persuaded to go with this sky mobile deal because of a free gift of a keyboard and earphones that came with it. The earphones arrived but after chasing for ages has now been told the keyboard is unavailable and wont ever be delivered as the order will now be cancelled for the keyboard. 

Surely this is false advertising if he will never receive it. They could promise anything to get the order and then just cancel it. He is now locked in a contract. 

Any advice over who else to contact as I find this disgusting from sky mobile.

I haven't seen the small print but I would have thought instances like this are covered by something like "while stocks last" or similar.

If this is right companies can  just promise anything they like in full knowledge they can't deliver what they are advertising just to get people locked into a contract. Surely not.

They are free to promote whatever they want as long as they make it clear that the offer is dependent on stock availability which I would have thought they did here.

@Apb3 The free gifts offer is provided by Samsung themselves and not Sky, so any complaint you may have is with Samsung over the lack of availability of the keyboard, they will almost certain state as already mentionsed that its a "while stocks last" offer, that is almost always the case and its a risk you take when taking out deals with "free gifts".
