@Harnake

So, have you reported this to Action Fraud?

https://www.actionfraud.police.uk

Note that if you're in Scotland you need to report any fraud to the police as Action Fraud doesn't cover Scotland.

Re: Fraud

First of all if this is related to a device for example Apple, contact sky immediately request they black list the devices ( please note once done they cannot be unblocked ) sky have a legal obligation to assist you in any matters related to fraud, I would also ask for a SaR (subject access request) gives you basically information on what sky hold on you from payment methods to account holders etc, like someone has advised action fraud is also someone go call however Scotland is the main number 101 as AF don't cover Scotland, regardless of anything the phones will be black listed and hopefully the person or persons who have done this try and unblock the device at a genuine shop like Apple etc, then they will assist the police, IF the person is a family member or it's a fallout of some kind fraud is fraud, nobody should be using someone else's information to get a mobile phone contract, I'm quite surprised sky allowed this if there was an upfront payment and the fraudsters used their own debit card to pay then sky mustn't withhold information or refuse to help, I would also check with Experian to make sure no other loans, contracts, etc have been taken out then alert them to this.

Fraud is on the rise and it's disgusting, your main concern is to get the devices or sims blocked asap as you don't want to be left with a huge bill for waiting to find out information off a forum a quick google search is easier, I would also change all your passwords I use a VPN site called SurfShark which alerts me if any of my passwords or devices are hacked it's really good and reasonably priced, and never ever give out personal information to anyone regardless how close you are to someone sometimes it could be those closest who do the harm.

please let us know how you got on
