Esim Activation Issues

I bought a new phone and tried transferring my old number from my mums account with sky to my account with sky but it didn't work. I've now cancelled my old data plan and got my own with a new number, but I can't activate the new sim. My phone still says I have my old number but the data plan is for the new number. Can anyone help?

You can't directly transfer a number between two different Sky sims even if they are on different accounts as the work around for this would be to move it to and then back from a PAYG network.

What is happening when you try to activate the sim ?
