Engaged tone not working on my iPhone during calls

When my wife rings my iPhone 16 Pro Max she never gets an engaged tone even when I am talking to someone at the time. How do I fix this?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you both on Sky Mobile and when she calls you what is happening ?

Yes, we are both on Sky network and both are iPhones

To her it sounds as if I am not answering, as if my phone is just ringing out. Sorry if I wasn't to clear in my original post.

Is airplane mode turned on in error ?

If it isn't then either of you could try resetting the network settings:

 

So go Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then go to Settings - Phone - My Number and change it if it is wrong, then reboot the phone. You will need to set up your Wifi connection again.

Thanks for taking the time to try and help.

 

I reset my phone as you suggested, but it's still the same. To my wife it sounds like it's just ringing out.


Somwhere on line, call waiting is mentioned. Stating it should be turned ON. I tried that but got a pop up saying "Could not save call waiting setting" Then Dismiss

 

The irony being, if she hadn't happened to call me when I was on phone to SKY to try and upgrade my TV package we would have been blissfully unaware of this problem 😂
