E sim problems

I have a sim with O2 and I got my new phone via sky. When setting up my new phone it asked me if I wanted to transfer everything over and keep my current number so I went ahead and did this. On my Sky app it still states activate my sim and when I click on this it asks for a code to be sent to my email but the code never arrives. My sim with O2 ends in April next year so what would happen if I don't activate my sky sim until then? 😂

If esims are anything like a physical sim you would have 31 days to activate it. After which you would need to order a new one when you are ready to move your number to Sky.
