Data roaming text

I have always received a text message when roaming in Europe confirming start and due to end. This visit I am not receiving any. Does anyone have suggestions as to why not?

I wouldn't worry too much about that then @tullies  as long as it's working. Any roaming charges will appear in your account to be added to your next bill so you can keep an eye on them there.

It's more a question of when to turn off data roaming as we don't need it every day but want to make the most of what we get.
