Data plan upgrade charges

I've upgraded my data allowance from 50gb to unlimited. I've been charged for both data plans in my upcoming bill. The information suggests my new data plan begins on the day of my upgrade. When do I recuperate the extra I have paid this month? Does this mean on my next bill I won't be charged for my data?
