Data plan upgrade VIP

In the VIP section, there is an offer for lower price data, 40GB for £8 for rxample, however the only option seems to be to purchase a new SIM, which i do not need to do. Additionally, when looking at new ohone contracts, with a sim, there is the same offer on data plan. I am planning to buy a new phone on pay monthly from sky but would like to keep my SIM, however not paying my current price of £18 for 40gb after seeing multiple offers for a lower price. How can i get this offer without purchasing a new SIM card?

If you get the new sim but never activate it will the  present sim still keep working?

You can't.

However, there is a protracted workaround.

1) Purchase a new additional dataplan under the offer.

2) Activate it with a new number.

3) Port your old number OUT of the network (to PAYG SIM).

4) Port your number back to your new dataplan.

Yes, but doesn't really help the OP...  (As the old 'higher cost' plan will continue - they are after the cheaper deal)

Hi @Chloe358   All providers offer this type of deal for additional sims.
