Data in Jamaica stuck due to Hurricane

We are currently in Jamaica, just got over the hurricane and safe. Am too frightened to put data on due to mad costs and do not understand how it works. Our holiday company will be phoning later but I won't be able to receive the call. Does anyone know if sky is helping on data or how to minimise costs to receive calls. Any help appreciated. We have WiFi.

Hi @Applegarthmusical  having data turned off shouldn't stop you receiving calls, if the infrastructure is still working. I have asked in a closed area of the forum for any guidance from sky. As soon as any updates are available I will post it on here.

Nothing has been announced yet AFAIK.

You don't have to enable roaming data to receive cellular calls - data is the really expensive part.  (But will still incur £1.80 per minute to receive calls - ensure your spend cap is set appropriately)

If you have WiFi then would WhatsApp be an option for the holiday company?
