Changing Existing Sim

I have a sim with sky and pay £10 for 2gb I am now going to purchase a new phone with them and they do a sim contract £6 for 10gb which is understandably more attractive.  How do I end the 2gb sim and keep the same number, do I have to request anything from them?

Not easily.

Unless Sky are prepared to apply a new dataplan to your existing SIM then the workaround is to port the number out of the network and then back in to the new SIM.
