As an update on this post. There's no problem with either my browser or Sky network.
After some considerable time on the phone and talking to the call centre and then retentions dpt and then the call centre again before been passed on to retentions for a second time I got an answer It appears that as I am in the process of leaving sky Television in October I am not allowed to roll over any data onto my wife's sim card today from the piggy bank account. This is despite us accumulating 23 GB of spare data to roll over, paying the monthly bill and telling the sky employees my wife is working away from home and may well need the data in connection with her employment. The call centre even tried to sell me another package for a few extra pounds . We've never encountered any problems in the past two years but I'm now being inconvenienced for leaving Sky Tv . Sorry but Sky doesn't look very good to me at present and I think we shall go elsewhere for our phone contract. Apparently the issue will be raised by the retention staff and MAY be resolved in 24 hours. The staff were lovely but their system stinks !
