Cannot Link ID despite correct details

Have had Sky account for quite some time for TV and Internet. 
I just got a new iPhone through sky website. 
Had problems activating SIM because it wouldn't link to my sky ID despite using the correct bank details. 
Got the SIM activated via a phone call to customer service. But I didn't have the PAC number handy. 
Now I can't transfer my old number with the PAC as I cannot (still) link the sky ID to my mobile. 

this should not be so difficult.

You will need to call Sky on 150 to give them the pac code and to ask tjem

to link your mobile account to your Sky ID.
